... the Consortium

ModConFlex

The ModConFlex consortium comprises a group of 10 academics and 4 senior researchers in industry (ORE Catapult) with expertise in control theory, artificial intelligence, complex dynamical systems, distributed parameter systems, fluid dynamics, aeroelasticity, power electronics, power systems, swimming theory and marine engineering.

Our aim is to train the next generation of researchers on the modelling and control of flexible structures interacting with fluids (water and air), contributing to the latest advances in control theory, artificial intelligence and energy-based modelling.

The fourteen researchers are primarily hosted by one of eight universities and ORE Catapult. They frequently visit other academic or industry partners for a few months to gain an insight into different research approaches and applications.

The Consortium

While the doctoral researchers are hosted by one of eight universities most of the time, we are very grateful to our non-academic partners in the consortium for offering complementary education / experience.

Network Activities

Knowledge

At each Network Meeting we collect new knowledge in mathematics and engineering and make videos and slides accessible for everyone.
